My Goal

My Brain Games 2024 challenge

I'm taking part in Encephalitis International's Brain Games challenge this September.

My challenge is to take on 30 days of activity by the end of the month and raise valuable awareness and funds for a charity that supports people across the world affected by this devastating brain condition.

Your support would mean the world to me!

My Updates

Half way through

Tuesday 17th Sep
I've made it to the half way point, and I no longer hurt!

I don't miss the pain, but I have now increased to 25 sit-ups and 25 push-ups every morning and evening in an attempt to keep stretching myself (and feel the burn).

I might actually make it to 30 in one go by the end of the month, but at the moment each extra sit-up feels like a mammoth task in itself.

Day 4 - It still hurts!

Wednesday 4th Sep
So it turns out that I haven't used my core muscles or upper body very much recently. And now I'm paying the price.
Unable to complete 30 of either exercise in one go, I have to split them up into two groups of 15. One set before breakfast - recover for the rest of the day - another set before bed - sleep it off and repeat.
My ribs hurt. My shoulders hurt. My arms hurt. But it's all for a good cause. That's what I keep telling myself as I sweat and growl my way through the exercises. It's all for a good cause!
